The Gunners released the new pre-match shirt in celebration of fans from the country and this weekend’s Notting Hill carnival

PREMIER LEAGUE Arsenal have released a stunning Jamaica-inspired pre-match shirt in celebration of fans from the country and this weekend’s Notting Hill carnival.

The green, gold, and black strip was launched by first team stars Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli who were joined by women’s team midfielder Mana Iwabuchi.

Arsenal describes the kit as a “vibrant display of energy and style”, presented as “a bold, all-over geometric print in green, gold and black” colours of the Jamaican flag.

The 13-time league champions declare that the ode to its Jamaican fans is a “tribute to those who call both north London and Jamaica home”.

Former Gunner, Ian Wright, said: “It’s fantastic to see adidas and Arsenal celebrating its rich and diverse fan base. Arsenal is for everyone, and creating initiatives, support, and products that resonate with the wide-ranging fan base is fantastic to see. The fans are going to love it!”

The black, green and gold adidas-designed kit is sure to excite Jamaican football fans across the globe, considering the sportswear company’s recent partnership with the Jamaica Football Federation — which includes providing the official kit for the national football teams — commencing January 2023.

The Arsenal-adidas kit, according to the Gunners, will be on display this weekend at the highly anticipated Notting Hill Carnival.

The parade of the pre-match kit continues “a series of initiatives” for which the club has teamed with the sportswear giant to celebrate their vast fan base.

Good for Arsenal, beautiful shirts!!😁🇯🇲

Not a Arsenal fan. However i am ambivalent about this initiave.

Artistically and aestestically it is pleasing. I get the initaive to make itself more relatable, appealing and asseible.

I wonder what a club who colours have been arporpriated by Arsenal feels?

The other issue is this is hijacking the “brand Jamaica”. Even i want to own this shirt. But what does Jamaica get apart from a figurative howdiddo?..

Think i will wait for the rip off!

Such a brilliant marketing move by Arsenal and this young team are fantastic, if Arteta keeps them together another three years they will rule for six years .
