Puma Unveils Italy 2022 Home Jersey And Some World Cup Kits

In Wednesday's Finalissima vs. Argentina, the Italian national team will debut its new and last jersey in partnership with Puma. The kit is part of the latest international collection from the German brand, which includes the shirts for five countries playing in the next 2022 World Cup: Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Switzerland and Uruguay.

The new outfit will have a short life because starting in 2023, adidas will be the sponsor for La Azzurra.

What about the design? Puma's farewell is far from mind-blowing, but it raises some eyebrows among the fans due to its unusual quadrants in two tones of blue. Weird, isn't it? I like the Tricolore detail in the neck, but overall it is a thumbs down for me.

By the way, the idea of the quadrants is to remind people of all the World Cups won by Italy in history — four (1934, 1938, 1982, and 2006).

Sadly for Italy, there will not be a lot of scenarios to brag about it since the team was not able to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. #Sad.

Italy is not the only Puma squad with a new outfit. The brand also unveiled the home kits for five countries that earned the right to show them off next November: Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Switzerland and Uruguay.

In general, the designs are quite simple and clean, but they also bring some retro vibes, celebrating the past achievements of every squad. If I had to choose favorites, I would pick Uruguay and that 1998 tribute for Morocco. Special mention for Ghana.

Here are the new kits.

Finally, Italy was not the only team out of the World Cup with a new strip. Iceland and Paraguay also got new looks.
