Award-winning mixologist and restaurant consultant Carlos F. Ruiz has taken restaurant and bar consulting to the next level, with his vast trajectory in the hospitality scene, innovating with creative “artisanal” menus and perfect pairings.

In the industry for over a decade, and with more than two dozen cocktail competitions won, Ruiz has the unique know-how to create and curate custom cocktails, tailored to individual restaurants and specific styles, flavors and cuisines. For Ruiz, creating drinks “with different spirits, styles and unique concepts,” is child’s play. However, his expertise doesn’t stop there. He’s also highly skilled at training staff, on bar work, ingredient sourcing and inventory, pricing and cost analytics, and cocktail menu launch promotion and marketing, digitally and on social media. With a team of professional photographers and videographers and drawing from his own success as a “cocktail influencer,” he has an eye for “content” that creates a buzz and takes guests from a “like” to in the door.

So, what’s next for the talented Ruiz? He’s working on the launch of his very own Peruvian traditional “Chicha Morada” liqueur — a drink made from purple corn, green apples, pineapple, lime, cinnamon and clove. It’s a special concoction stemming from a longtime family recipe and is set to hit the market, as the first of its kind in the U.S., later this year.

Carlos F. Ruiz is a multi-award-winning mixologist and hospitality industry consultant, who specializes in mixology, cocktail menu development, training, inventory and cost management, for bars, restaurants, and events.

A proud native of Lima, Peru, Ruiz moved to New York nearly two decades ago.
