Swim Lessons: The Y’s Swim Lessons are designed to welcome students of varying and diverse abilities to ensure that everyone feels like they belong, and to foster a sense of achievement from the start. Swim Lessons are offered for children ages 6 months and up through to adults. Plus, enjoy a worry-free one-time sign up for all swim lessons held September 2022-June 2023.

Health and Safety classes: This Fall, the Y will continue to offer American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED courses, along with a variety of Lifeguarding courses. These programs are open to Y members and members of the community.

Youth Gymnastics: Gymnastics is a fun way for a child to develop motor skills, self-esteem, self-discipline and coordination. The Y’s caring teachers encourage each gymnast to progress at their own pace – whether their goal is to someday be a competitive gymnast or just to have fun. This Fall, the Y is offering classes for toddlers through teens with classes for all levels.

Youth Dance: The Y’s dance program aims to enhance the creativity of each individual through movement. There are several classes available for kids ages 3 and up, aimed at introducing them to different techniques, building or enhancing skills and having fun! Plus, the Y’s popular Gymnastics/Dance Combo class is back this Fall!

Youth Sports: There’s sports of all sorts and something for everyone at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA! For preschoolers, the Y is offering All Star Sports, Soccer, Gym Games and Gym Ninja; for school age kids, there’s Ninja Warrior, Youth Sports Sampler and Soccer, and for teens, there’s Volleyball and Middle School Cross Country.

Youth and Family Specialty Programs: Parents can enjoy a night out without the kids, while the kids have a blast at the Y with the Kids Night Out program, held the second Friday of each month, October through June. And new! Family Fun Nights, held on the first Friday of each month beginning in October, include a variety of activities such as games, arts and crafts, fitness, sports, swimming and more, for quality family-time fun.

Preschool Programs: Kids ages 3-5 can enjoy Cooking with Literature for budding chefs who will learn how to follow a recipe and use measuring, safety and nutrition skills. Or, they can try Messy Fingers, in which different art techniques are used to create beautiful masterpieces.
