A Dauphin County football team is dressing for success on and off the field.

“Putting on tie, little rustle but I think. It’s a good opportunity for our kids get them out of their comfort zone a little bit,” Central Dauphin East Coach Lance Deane says.

Deane is talking about the football team's new dress code for away games.

“Students expected to wear dress pants, ties, shoes, we kind of add own touch dress shoes Nikes Jordans,” Deane continues.

The coach is leading by example.

“Don’t know how to put it on people yet,” Deane jokes.

And helping his players look their best.

As with any new game plan, there are some growing pains.

Deane has never worn a suit and tie before.

The coach’s office has turned into part department store dressing room.

The idea for this new look came from an assistant coach. Call it old school

“Something older tradition type thing. When I came up playing football that’s what we did,” says the assistant coach.

“It’s kind of brought us together everybody dresses up complimenting each other teambuilding.” Adds quarterback Terrence Copney Jackson.

And that’s part of the bigger message behind this sartorial lesson.

“Same clip one we mean business from a football aspect and two we're trying to prepare these kids for the world,” Deane says.

Many of the players are young. budding stars with aspirations to play in college.

“Mom and dad were excited want to show everybody respectful young man CD East doing something different,” player Jared Porter says.

“This is all mine except the coat,” Adam Putric says.

While some of the players had their own dress shirts ties and jackets Coach Deane put out a call to the community on social media, a number of people stepped up.

“I used to work at Swatara middle school. Former coworkers reached out asking about how the kids were doing, they were more than happy to donate, a church did as well.” Assistant coach head Clark McCready says.

And when the team steps off the bus for gameday.

“We look very good I can say that,” Player Adam Putric adds.
