STILLWATER, Okla. — Believe it or not, the start of the 2022 college football season is less than two months away for Oklahoma State football. Preseason camp is fast approaching as a group of newcomers gets set to start their careers with the Cowboys. Oklahoma State has a total of 23 new scholarship players on the roster for the 2022 season, 13 of which will see their first action in practice this August.

The Oklahoma State football roster on the official team page was updated recently to include the new members, as well as a group of walk-ons. Here is a look at the jersey numbers and measurements for the new Cowboys.

High School:  Euless (Tex.) Trinity Height:  6-1 Weight:  211 Year:  Freshman Early Enrollee: Yes

Ollie Gordon arrived on campus back in February just in time for spring camp. The 247Sports Composite four-star recruit was the second-highest rated signee in the class for Oklahoma State with an overall 247Sports Composite grade of 0.9125. The industry ranked Gordon as the No. 19 running back and No. 253 recruit nationally in the 2022 class.

Gordon was an absolute workhorse for Trinity last  season as a senior, playing quarterback in a read-option offense for much of the year before transitioning back to running back full-time.  He carried the ball 225 times for 2,376 yards and 35 touchdowns. As a passer, Gordon completed 14 of 28 attempts for 293 yards and three touchdowns. He also had six catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Gordon impressed during spring ball at Oklahoma State with his college-ready size and power.

Xavier Benson is a physical linebacker that has  two years of eligibility remaining at Oklahoma State. An NJCAA Division I All-American, Benson was also named first team Al l-Southwest Junior College Football Conference at linebacker and was the SWJCFC Defensive Player of the Year. He  had a team-high 120 total tackles this season, including 15.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. He had two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and seven pass breakups for the Apaches.

Prior to his time at Tyler Junior College, Benson was at Texas Tech from 2018-2020. He redshirted in 2018, but became a regular starter as a redshirt freshman in 2019, playing in all 12 games.  Benson had 57 total tackles, including 36 solos and four tackles for loss. He also recorded a sack and a quarterback hurry. Benson ranked fourth on the team and third at linebacker in total tackles that season. Benson opted out of the 2020 season before transferring to Tyler Junior College.

Benson ranked as a three-star prospect and was considered to be among the best junior college linebackers in the country for the 2022 class.

High School: Bixby (Okla.) Height: 5-8 Weight: 165 Year: Freshman Early Enrollee: No

One of the most dynamic prospects in the entire 2022 class, Braylin Presley is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. In 12 games last season at Bixby, he had 109 carries for 1,105 yards and 17 touchdowns, with 56 receptions for 665 yards and another seven touchdowns.  The undersized 5-foot-8, 165-pound athlete helped the Spartans to their seventh state  championship in eight seasons as Bixby set a new state record with 49-consecutive wins.

Presley was named the Gatorade Oklahoma Football Player of the Year.

During his junior season, Presley garnered 1,744 yards and 25 touchdowns on 222 carries, while hauling in 57 receptions for 727 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also totaled more than 300 yards on returns.

Presley is the  younger brother of current Oklahoma State junior wide receiver Brennan Presley .

The highest-rated member of the 2022 recruiting class for Oklahoma State, Talyn Shettron  was  the headliner addition as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the cycle nationally. In 11 games last past season, Shettron hauled in 75 catches for 1,049 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 95.4 yards per game.

Shettron was previously committed to the rival Sooners before flipping his commitment to Oklahoma State in June 2021. Shettron was a four-star prospect that ranked as the No. 19 wide receiver in the class by the 247Sports Composite. The in-state product joined his brother Tabry Shettron  on the Cowboys' roster as an early enrollee this spring.

Oklahoma State turned to the transfer portal in May to add to its running back depth with the addition of Deondre Jackson from Texas A&M. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound back spent two seasons in College Station where he had just three carries in five games. He arrives at Oklahoma State with three years of eligibility remaining.

Jackson was rated as a three-star prospect coming out of  Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson in the 2020 class. He ranked as the No. 49 running back and No. 79 overall recruit regardless of position in Georgia by 247Sports.

High School:  DeSoto (Tex.) Height: 6-2 Weight: 182 Year: Freshman Early Enrollee: No

A former Oregon commit, Stephon Johnson Jr. reopened his recruitment in early January before Oklahoma State made a strong push and closed the deal on National Signing Day. The 6-foot-2, 182-pound receiver  hauled in 46 receptions for 436 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 9.5 yards per catch in his lone season with DeSoto. The Eagles finished 11-3 overall, advancing to the quarterfinal round of the Texas 6A Division 1 State Playoffs.

He spent his junior  season at Lancaster (Tex.) and sophomore season at Houston (Tex.) Heights. He totaled more than 1,224 yards and 17 touchdowns on 61 receptions during those years.

DeSoto High has produced several Oklahoma State standouts over the years, including cornerback  AJ Green, running back  LD Brown  and wide receiver  Chris Lacy. Current sophomore cornerback  Jabbar Muhammad  also graduated from DeSoto.

One of two talented cornerback additions in the 2022 recruiting class for Oklahoma State, Dylahn McKinney  got a  jumpstart on his development this spring as the Cowboys prepare the next wave of secondary standouts. In 12 games played last season, McKinney had 38 total tackles, five interceptions, two of which went for touchdowns, four pass breakups and three quarterback hurries. The Panthers advanced to the Texas 5A Division I State quarterfinals with a final record of 12-2.

McKinney was rated as a three-star prospect and considered to be the No. 71 cornerback in the 2022 class by the 247Sports Composite.

Tabry Shettron was the second part of the dual commitment that included Top247 wide receiver Talyn Shettron  last summer. In 11 games played this past season season, Tabry had 31 receptions for 378 yards and nine touchdowns.

Tabry was rated as a three-star prospect and considered to be among the top-30 in-state recruits for the 2022 class.

Oklahoma State got its quarterback for the 2022 class in four-star prospect Garret Rangel . The Lone Star product enrolled early to get a jump on learning the playbook this spring.  Rangel played in 12 games last season as a senior, missing two due to injury. He completed 127 of 187 pass attempts for 2,049 yards and 24 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Rangel is reunited with his former high school running back, Jaden Nixon, who is a redshirt freshman.

Rangel was rated as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite and ranked among the top-25 quarterbacks nationally in the 2022 class.

High School: St. Louis (Mo.) Chaminade  Height:  6-3 Weight: 194 Year: Freshman   Early Enrollee: No

A three-way player from St. Louis (Mo.) Chaminade, Cameron Epps was the second highest-rated defensive signee in the 2022 class for the Cowboys. He  played everything from quarterback, receiver, defensive back, punter and special teams returner for the Red Devils last season. Offensively, he completed 22 of 58 passing attempts for 427 yards and five touchdowns with six interceptions. Epps had 193 carries for 1,852 yards and 28 touchdowns to go along with eight receptions for 172 yards and two touchdowns.  On the defensive side, Epps has 49 total tackles and a sack. And lastly, on special  teams, Epps had two punt returns for 120 yards, and seven kickoff returns for 156 yards and a touchdown.

Epps was rated as a high three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 49 cornerback in the 2022 class nationally.

High School: Beggs (Okla.) Height: 5-10 Weight: 175 Year: Freshman   Early Enrollee: Yes

Another talented in-state prospect, CJ Brown   arrived in Stillwater back in January as a potential contributor at running back in the near future. Brown, who also played cornerback in high school, rushed for 2,143 yards and 29 touchdowns on 205 attempts this past season, averaging 10.5 yards per carry. He also added four catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Brown's stats are astonishing considering there were a handful of games in which he did not play in the second half. Beggs advanced to the Oklahoma Class 2A semifinals for the third consecutive years. Brown is reunited with his former Beggs teammate, safety Kendal Daniels , at Oklahoma State.

Brown was rated as a four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 27 running back in the 2022 recruiting class.

High School: Stillwater (Okla.) Height:  6-2 Weight: 210 Year: Freshman   Early Enrollee: Yes

Gabe Brown was the first in the class to announce his commitment to Oklahoma State back in September 2020, not long after getting an offer from the home-town Cowboys. Brown helped Stillwater (Okla.) to a 9-3 record last season as a senior, but missed several games due to injury. He played in the first three games of the season, but did not return until almost two months later. Brown totaled 36 tackles in seven games played, while also recording one tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

Rated as a three-star prospect, Brown was considered to be among the top-25 in-state prospects for the 2022 class.

High School: Frisco (Tex.) Lebanon Trail Height:  6-5 Weight: 265 Year: Freshman   Early Enrollee: No

Austin Kawecki became the first offensive line commit for Oklahoma State in the 2022 recruiting class back in June 2021. The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder also had offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, Penn State, TCU, Texas Tech, USC, Utah, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech, but ultimately picked the Cowboys.

Kawecki was rated as a three-star recruit and ranked as the No. 65 offensive tackle in the class nationally.

High School/College: Baytown (Tex.) Barbers Hill / USC Height:  6-7 Weight: 300 Year: Redshirt Sophomore Early Enrollee: No

Oklahoma State needed to add more depth to its offensive line and did so by landing former USC tackle Casey Collier out of the transfer portal. Collier, who spent two seasons with the Trojans, and will have four years of eligibility remaining — which includes an extra year because of the pandemic in 2020.

He played in one game as a true freshman in 2020, and was set to compete for a spot on the two-deep going into the 2021 season. Collier worked his way up to backup left tackle, but eventually was absent from the Trojans for several weeks. Former USC head coach  Clay Helton  reveled to reporters that Collier was dealing with personal matters back home in Texas. Collier returned to practice later in the season, but once again was absent.

High School: Houston (Tex.) Ridge Point Height:  6-8 Weight: 320 Year: Freshman Early Enrollee: No

Calvin Harvey provides a massive presence on the offensive line. The Cowboys were the only Power Five program to offer the 6-foot-8, 330-pound lineman and were able to flip him from Louisiana Tech.  Harvey played in two games last season for Missouri City (Tex.) Ridge Point before having season-ending surgery. The Panthers finished 8-3 last season with an appearance in the Texas Class 6A Division I State Playoffs. Harvey played a key role up front on the offensive line.

Harvey is a former high school teammate of current Oklahoma State sophomore wide receiver John Paul Richardson .

High School/College: Houston (Tex.) Dobie / Vanderbilt Height:  6-4 Weight: 295 Year: Redshirt Sophomore Early Enrollee: No

Another incoming transfer on the offensive line, Jason Brooks Jr. could have the best chance of making an immediate impact for Oklahoma State next season. The former Vanderbilt tackle has three years of eligibility remaining  —  which includes an extra year because of the pandemic in 2020.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman spent two seasons with the Commodores.  Brooks played in one game at Vanderbilt as a true freshman in 2020, and was used primarily as a reserve this past season. A fter entering the transfer portal in February, Brooks reported offers from  Houston, Michigan State and Oklahoma State.

Brooks was a three-star prospect coming out of Houston (Tex.) Dobie in the 2020 class. He ranked as the No. 71 offensive guard and No. 143 overall recruit regardless of position in Texas for the 2020 class by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. He also ranked as the No. 1,156 prospect nationally.

High School/Junior College: St. Catharine's (Ont.) Notre Dame Catholic / New Mexico Military Institute Height:  6-3 Weight: 285 Year: Junior Early Enrollee: Yes

Tyrone Webber was a big-time addition for Oklahoma State back in mid-October, becoming the first junior college prospect in the class at the time. Webber is originally from Welland, Canada, which is in Ontario, approximately 25 miles west of Buffalo, New York. He attended high school at Notre Dame Catholic in  St. Catharines.

Webber was the starting left tackle for New Mexico Military Institute, which finished 12-1 last season and won the program's first NJCAA Division I National Championship over top-ranked Iowa Western.

Considered to be a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite, Webber ranked as the No. 2 junior college offensive tackle in the class.

High School: Tulsa (Okla.) Berryhill Height:  6-6 Weight: 290 Year: Freshman Early Enrollee: No

Davis Dotson was one of the late additions to the 2022 recruiting class for Oklahoma State, announcing his commitment just before National Signing Day in February. Dotson camped at Oklahoma State last summer at the 'Down & Dirty' lineman camp, but did not pick up an offer until January.

As a senior last season, Dotson helped Berryhill to a 9-3 overall record. The Chiefs advanced to the second round of the Oklahoma Class 3A State Playoffs. Dotson is a multi-sport athlete that also competes in basketball and throwing events in track and field. He threw the shot put  48-10.75 and the discus 112-8 as a junior in 2021.

He was rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 22 overall in-state prospect for the 2022 class.

High School: Pawhuska (Okla.) Height:  6-3 Weight: 175 Year: Freshman Early Enrollee: No

One of the long-time commits in the 2022 recruiting class for Oklahoma State, Mason Gilkey finally arrived on campus in June.  The under-the-radar recruit was the leading receiver for Pawhuska for the second straight season in 2021. He had 83 receptions for 1,315 yards and 19 touchdowns in 12 games.

As a junior in 2020,  Gilkey hauled in 56 receptions for 1,261 yards and 26 touchdowns for the Huskies, which had one of the most explosive offenses in the state. Pawhuska finished the 2020 season with a 13-1 overall record and an appearance in the semifinals of the Oklahoma Class A State Playoffs. As a sophomore in 2019, Gilkey caught 24 passes for 622 yards and eight touchdowns. 

Gilkey was rated as a high three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 76 receiver in the class.

High School: Choctaw (Okla.) Height:  6-3 Weight: 250 Year: Freshman Early Enrollee: No

DeSean Brown received his first offer from Oklahoma State in October 2021, and after a long recruitment process, he eventually signed with the Cowboys on National Signing Day in February. The fierce defensive end helped  Choctaw to an 8-3 overall record last season, which included a trip back to the Oklahoma Class 6A-II Playoffs. Brown was highly disruptive on the defensive side of the ball for the Yellowjackets this year, recording 70 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, including 19 sacks. He had five fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns.

Brown was rated as a high three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 37 edge rusher in the 2022 class nationally. He was the highest-rated defensive signee for Oklahoma State in the cycle.

High School:  Frontenac (Kan.) Height:  6-5 Weight: 240 Year: Freshman   Early Enrollee: Yes

After playing both defensive end and tight end for Frontenac (Kan.) as a junior, Landon Dean   moved inside to offensive tackle for his senior campaign, while continuing to play on the defensive line. Frontenac finished the season 12-3 and advanced to the KSHAA Class 3A State Championship game.

Dean was rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect from Kansas in the class.

High School:  Oklahoma City (Okla.) Putnam City North Height:  6-4 Weight: 240 Year: Freshman   Early Enrollee: No

After getting an offer from Oklahoma State last June following a standout performance at the 'Down & Dirty' lineman camp, Jaleel Johnson made his commitment just a couple weeks later during an official visit. In nine games played last season  at Putnam City North , Johnson had 64 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and a blocked punt. The Panthers finished 5-6 overall, losing in the first round of the Oklahoma Class 6A-II State Playoffs.

As a junior in 2020, Johnson recorded 49 total tackles with 13 tackles for loss, four sacks, three pass breakups and one forced fumble. Johnson helped the Panthers to an 8-3 overall record with an appearance in the second round of the Oklahoma Class 6A-II State Playoffs.

He was rated as a three-star prospect and ranked as the No. 18 in-state recruit in the 2022 class.

High School/College/Junior College:  Corona (Calif.) Centennial / BYU / Snow College Height:  6-3 Weight: 270 Year: Redshirt Junior Early Enrollee: No

Another junior college addition for Oklahoma State, Seleti Fevaleaki comes in from Snow College, which has produced a number of future Cowboys in recent years. Fevaleaki  played in eight games last season for Snow College, recording 20 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup. Fevaleaki was named NJCAA Division I First Team All-America. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Fevaleaki was rated as a three-star prospect coming out of  Corona (Calif.) Centennial in the 2017 recruiting class and initially signed with BYU. After serving a mission, Fevaleaki spent two seasons with the Cougars, redshirting in 2019 before seeing his first action during the 2020 season. He registered six total tackles and one sack.
